SUMMER CANOE OUTING
Let’s get together for a relaxing, fun day of canoeing and fellowship on Saturday, July 31. We’ll start at approximately Noon and end in 4-6 hours, depending on how much you prefer to paddle!
We’ll float leisurely down the beautiful Grand River beginning in the Portland area and ending at my house, by the David Highway bridge where you are welcome to stay and enjoy a BBQ, games, swimming and campfire with music at the water’s edge. Bring a fishing pole if you like.
Canoe rentals are available through my friends at Looking Grand Canoe Rentals. Transportation to and from you vehicle as well as equipment, is provided at a cost of $25 per canoe for the entire day.
Bring a yummy dish to pass, a beverage and your favorite meats for the grill. If anyone is interested in tenting for an overnight, please see me. We can do breakfast and a short Bible study on Sunday morning. All age groups are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex. For more details contact Kevin Cornell at 517-743-1471.
NEWS FROM MADDI COTE’
As a proud member of the Grand Ledge High School Marching Band, it will be my privilege to accompany the band to Florida and Walt Disney World over the Thanksgiving Holiday this year. We will be marching in the Thanksgiving Day parade in downtown Disney, attending various workshops, and of course having some free time to play! At this time I'm doing a can drive to help defray the cost. All cans can be dropped in the Youth Room in the can collection bin, or given to me on Sunday mornings after church. Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
SUMMER ADULT BIBLE DISCUSSION
Since there is no schedule change for services this summer, we have decided to continue meeting during the summer months to discuss the weekly Scripture readings. All are invited and encouraged to attend. You don’t have to attend all the meetings. You’re welcome to attend as your schedule permits . No preparation, no tests and no homework. Just bring an inquiring and open heart and mind—God will do the rest! Summer meetings begin Sunday June 6 and will continue through August 29, at 9:15, in the Double Classroom. There is no class July 4.
